The Cost Crunch of Keeping Good Health
In a rapidly changing world, health maintenance has become a central issue as governments reduce spending.
To paraphrase the scripture “What Profit a man if he loses his good health”.
We take our good health for granted, and do little or nothing to ensure that good health stays.
When the health of our body starts to fail through a dis-ease, those fortunate enough can go to their doctor/physician.
Consequence of such a visit outside of a quick recovery often involves tests and examinations, consultants, and chemists.
Now, if your nation or employer does not provide cover to pay for those extra services and drugs you can find the biggest ache you have is in your wallet.
Why should good health maintenance be so costly?
We have even greater personal costs looming as moves by respective governments to reduce their costs affects access to a range of health services, resulting in the real cost of health maintenance to be borne by the ill and needy. This not to say the poor will be so mis-treated, but certainly, if you can pay then you will find you will be paying a lot more for your health care.
Be aware, this is a recurring theme over the decades past, and will certainly continue to recur in the future.

“Your greatest asset is your good health”. How many times did our mother repeat that to us?
Most people expect good health, yet do little or nothing to try to ensure that their good health continues.
For instance, dependence on fast foods, processed foods, and widely recognised as “unhealthy” foods is not uncommon – just because it tastes good, is easy to get, and “fills the hunger need”.
What we have as consequences include: obesity, diabetes, degenerative diseases including joint disease (perhaps in part as a consequence of carrying all that extra weight), the now classical “muffin top” figure, and other representations of poor health in its many guises.

The Food Chain is critical to the maintenance of your good health.
Farmers are now looking to add minerals to their cropping areas to try and correct what is the mining of the soil by crops they grow.
What occurs is that the plant will take up minerals as part of its growing and production of the food it provides.
The farmer, for all his/her best intentions, is not in a position to add the trace and ultra-trace minerals – unless he/she is using seaweed, for instance. Seaweed is well recognised as great source of all minerals due to the environment it grows in – yes the sea is a great source of all minerals. Like the dry-ground crops, seaweed is also taking up minerals from its environment.
Unfortunately there just is not enough seaweed available to fill the cropping needs in the foreseeable future. Seaweed production and preparation, as well as cost of transport create difficulties in the economics of food production – after all, we don’t want to pay any more than the least price for our food, do we!

What to do about this.
Food is clearly a critical element in our survival, but we need to be mind-full of the nature and quality of what we eat.
Organic farmed food does offer hope in respect to quality, but there is always a economic cost – and there are other factors impacting on the food chain, even if we take the organic route.
For instance, elements such as omega6-rich cooking and salad oils are impactful in questions of inflammation. Inflammation is a precursor to degenerative disease of the joints.
What is clear is that if we (I, the individual) do not act to protect our health at the base-line level then we are definitely on track to high-cost part-health maintenance. “An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure” is very clear, and so the question is –
Do you want to maintain your Good Health by investing in yourself and thus being in control of your health situation, or will you be happy with part-health and become the investment of others, and be in their control.
Which would you prefer? The question has to be asked. To ignore the question is to guarantee your path to “part-health” where you become the income source of others.
